1.1. Installing the Gradebook Workaround

The old familiar way of launching PowerTeacher Gradebook doesn't work with the latest version of Java.  You'll need to install new software to get around this problem.  On your school computer, the best way to do this is to navigate to Privdata\MAPS\Tech\Software\Gradebook Installer and double-click the "Install Gradebook" icon.  On your home computer, there are a couple extra steps:

1. Log into PowerTeacher.

2. Click on the "Gradebook" link in the navigation pane on the left.

3. Scroll down to and click on the button "Download PowerTeacher Gradebook" and save gradebookwin.zip to a convenient location.

5. Double-click on the .zip file and then select the "Extract" option.

6. Locate the extracted files and double-click "Install Gradebook.cmd" Select "Yes" and then "Ok" in the windows that pop up during the install.

7. There will now be a "Gradebook Launch" icon on you desktop where you can logon to PowerTeacher Gradebook.

If this doesn't work for you, another option is to copy the Gradebook Install files from Privdata to a jump drive, Dropbox, or other method of taking these unzipped install files home.
